納豆-Natto- Japanese Style Recipe

Natto has been receiving a lot of attention around the world for its possible effect of preventing the worsening of conditions after being infected with the coronavirus. What would be a delicious way to eat this natto that even Japanese people are divided on? Pizza? Burger? Those seem interesting too, but this time we would like to try it with a soba salad. It is very easy to make.

 

Recipe

Cook the soba noodles in boiling water. We will use juwari soba (100% buckwheat).

 

Serve the cut salad sold at the supermarket on a plate and add the cut tomatoes and mushrooms. The image does not show it (the natto), but please also add the natto in the middle area.

Cut the seasoned chicken and avocado. When the soba noodles are cooked, keep the boiling water and wash the noodles with cold water.

Serve the soba noodles that have been washed and cooled, together with the cut chicken and avocado.

 

After the salad is fully prepared, sprinkle a liberal amount of black pepper and pour some Japanese mentsuyu (noodle soup base) diluted with water and lemon dressing sold at the supermarket. Be careful not to add too much to prevent high sodium intake. For those who are on a diet or who like a lighter taste, you can also enjoy it by lightly sprinkling salt and pepper, olive oil, and lemon juice.

 

To the water used to boil the soba noodles, add just a small amount of mentsuyu. Be careful not to add too much to prevent high sodium intake. You can consume the water-soluble vitamins from the soba noodles in an easy way like eating a soup. You will be able to take in Vitamin B1 and Vitamin B2.
