JUMP SQUARE The Prince of Tennis December review

Synopsis

Semifinal match against Germany. Yukimura, established as the “Son of God,” teases Tezuka with his tennis, showing his opponent a future in which he is likely to lose points, and finally succeeds in catching up in the final set, but Tezuka has already begun to rewrite the future that Yukimura predicted. …?!

Tezuka receives a silent cheer from Ryoma, with whom he exchanged glances before the decision was made. For the sake of his own dream, which he has decided to live in the world of tennis, he completely repaints Yukimura’s predicted future and overwhelms him again. He remembers the doubles match he challenged with Sanada when he was a child and smiles, saying, “I’m glad I didn’t have to give up on so many things. With advanced tactics and concentration, both players were unbeatable in the match. He has the concentration, skill, stamina and imagination to stay in the game towards the end of the match and is on a different level from when he was in Japan. Tezuka is determined to win this match, and he tries to chase down the most difficult hitting pitches, but in the end, Tezuka’s legendary sword, the “Zero Style” is decided. The game goes to Tezuka, but Yukimura has no regrets after he puts all his energy into the match against him.

I felt that this issue would have people not following Ryoma’s brother Ryoga’s abilities.

Because Ryoga will take away your opponent’s abilities.

Depriving them of their abilities? Hey?!
You’re kidding me.
I’m pretty much deflated by the fact that taking away your abilities is now a hunter-hunter level fantasy story.

Some may have been dismayed by the black holes, the glowing balls, the pirate moves, and the bizarre feats of gigantism, but there were many who could tolerate it.

But as you can imagine, taking away the ability is too much for a lot of things.
I feel like it’s ungentlemanly and against the spirit of sportsmanship. I didn’t feel like I could follow in that sense.
However, I’m not pessimistic. Because it will be interesting to see how we counter the ability to take away the ability, and I’m sure we can’t just leave the players deprived of their abilities alone, so there is still something to laugh about. I don’t think we’ll ever see a match as good as the last one.

Review

「The only reason Ryoma didn’t use his tendrils against France was because Ryoga had stolen them from him…?
So the practice matches with Kirihara have awakened a different kind of tendril.」

「This is now the only way to take away Niou’s ability to transform into Ryoga and take away his skills.」

「The last boss is going to be Ryoga.
Why are the finals of the world championships between the Japanese? 」

「I mean, it’s okay that he left the US because it could destroy his team.
After that, you don’t have to go into Spain, and if you’re going to fight Ralph and take away his abilities, there’s no point in even leaving the US, right?」
